This copy is additionally inscribed to a contemporary author on the front flyleaf, “To Ralph Straus, Esq. from P.C. Wren/ to thank him for many hours of joy with his books, & to wish him a Merry Xmas, 1927.” Photograph of Wren pasted inside the front cover, some spotting, very good. Basis for numerous film, tv, and radio adaptations, the most famous of which was the 1939 film with Gary Cooper. All books described as first editions are first printings unless otherwise noted.
