New York: Random House, 1937. First Edition of a successful play, turned into a successful movie in which Ronald Reagan won praise for his performance as one of the VMI cadets. Very good in a good dust jacket. This is an excellent association copy, inscribed in Monks’s hand, “To David Selznick/ A big man in a small studio - who turns out the good ones. With good wishes/ Johnny Monks & [in his co-author’s hand] Freddie Finkelehoffe.” The authors went on to modest Hollywood careers. All books described as first editions are first printings unless otherwise noted.
