New York: Harper & Brothers, 1892. First Edition. Publisher’s illustrated black silk; aside from some very minor staining, a fine copy in the publisher’s printed box. The box is made of yellow paper over cardboard, the front flap printing the same title and illustration as used on the front cover of the book; lacking one side flap; worn. However, we have never seen this box nor can we recall its existence ever noted or claimed. Color caricatures, mostly of New York’s “Four Hundred.” Each plate is captioned in print on its tissue guard.
