Stage Folk: A Book of Caricatures by Frueh
New York: Lieber & Lewis, 1922. First (apparently only) Edition of this portfolio of theatrical caricatures by one of the lesser-known, clearly neglected, New Yorker artists. Measuring roughly 19 x 12 1/2”, consisting of a thick cardboard, cloth backed folder (worn) with a title leaf and 37 caricatures, each of which is mounted on a larger sheet, most of which are yellowed and edge chipped. Among the caricatures are Ethel Barrymore, John Drew. Marie Dressler, Gillette, Arliss, and Nazimova. The caricatures themselves are in overall decent shape, some with very minor foxing.
