Minor offsetting from a previously laid in clipping on the front free endpaper; very good or better. Signed by Frost at the bottom of the portrait frontispiece and inscribed on the first blank “To Lillian Martin Quimby from Abby Forbes & [this inscription is in her hand] and signed by the illustrator below “James Chapin.” Chapin, a fine artist, was the grandfather of Harry Chapin and a distant cousin of Mary Chapin Carpenter. Abby (Abigail) Forbes was his wife.
