The Black Camel
Indianapolis: Bobbs-Merrill, 1929. First Edition. Owner’s inscription; a good copy in what is usually referred to as the second issue dust jacket (with the text of a Chan letter on the back panel), however, this cataloguer notes that it might be more accurately defined as a variant or a state. The term “issue” specifically refers to one or another variant available earlier than another; in some cases a later state might have been issued before one printed earlier.
