Forester - 1943.” The recipient, a well-regarded novelist herself, was the wife of novelist Charles Morgan, befriending Forester on moving to California with her two children from wartime England. The jacket illustration is by Tom Lea, best known for his writing and artwork set in the American West. All books described as first editions are first printings unless otherwise noted.
